The key to hardwood upkeep is investing in a quality broom and putting it to use on a daily basis. By actively working to remove dirt, dust, and other debris, you can prevent scratching & scarping. You may also want to encourage guests to remove their shoes before walking on your hardwood flooring and perhaps, place doormats at the entrances to your home.

Dealing With Hardwood Spills & Stains

Fortunately for hardwood flooring owners, spills & stains are not cause for concern so long as you address them in a timely manner. Should a spill take place, find yourself a clean towel and wipe away the substance immediately. If the spill is left on the hardwood too long then it could seep into the subflooring, potentially causing long-term damage.
